I think this is a great short story- I am Chinese American, and I had the same feelings when I visited China. ^_^ Good luck writing!

Excellent essay. It was so interesting and well-written. The only thing I'd like to mention is that the second sentence of the essay (beginning with "An extravagant feast...") was a little confusing. Also, there was one grammatical error in the first sentence of the second paragraph...I guess it should be "...they all treated my brother and me..."

Anyway, great job on this. I really enjoyed reading it. Keep writing! :-)
