Forget Me 2009-01-04 . chapter 1Clever! Good job identifying the stereotypes. I think the only people who use them are the ones who are too busy focusing on how allegedly awesome their mary-sue is to design an interesting villain.
But really, this is wonderful. |
 Sarah 2007-03-08 . chapter 1 I. Love. You.
Two itsy bitsy mistakes: 1) "overly luck Mary Sues" should be "overly lucky..." and 2) at the end, "peek" should be used, not "peak".
I think you covered every single cliche there is. Anyone planning on creating a villain should read this and watch out for signs that they are writing about an Evil Overlord. Well done! |
moeru-h 2005-09-17 . chapter 1LOL! This is so funny! I felt you really got into deconstructing the antangonists' stereotypes. I'm not really into reading those types with extremely evil yet simple characters for the reason that they're so predictable. That's why I found this essay really amusing! Great job on this!:P |
Anya Tempest 2005-09-05 . chapter 1 In your last point, "peak" should be spelt "peek".
Other than that, I totally loved it!
At first I thought it would just be immature caricature bashing, but it turned out to be far more witty and entertaining than I would have ever expected.
Take a bow, be proud, buy yourself something nice. =D
I'll proably add this to my favourites list once I get my own account. |
dancer374 2005-09-04 . chapter 1 Wow. Incredible. Your thoughts at first seem so bizarre. But the more I thought about it, the more sense and truth it became. I spent about half an hour reading and re-reading your essay, I loved it that much. Thank you for posting your views of stereotypes. And I'll definately keep an eye out for anything else you write.Bloody fantastic.Faye. |
Stuck in Red 2005-09-03 . chapter 1 THIS IS BLOODY BRILLIANT! HILARIOUIS!! AND ALL THAT JAZZ! |
