It's the place where you are when you're falling asleep, but you don't realize it until something startles you!

Pretty good; there was some minor confliction--the piece is about being between wakefullness and slumber, but then you talk about waking up. Its just a picky little thing, but you might clarify that point a little. Otherwise, well written overall.
