Tranquil Thorns 2008-03-31 . chapter 1
The details of this poem made me flinch back a little, which I guess (for you) is a good thing. =P You literally evoked a reaction from your reader.

The last two lines struck out me, probably for personal reasons. I'm a huge animal lover (on vacation I went around seeking flamingos and chickens and peacocks to feed), and I like to think they love me back. It's a little hurtful to think about the truth, but those two lines are amazing. They're so simple and yet really touch me.

Amazing work. You really are a talented writer.

A lesson indeed. Animals that we need for food don't love us like the ones we keep around for work and company. All the better to eat them I guess. It's hard to eat a pet, not livestock.

I like this fragmented paragraph style of yours...very good.

Your words ring of great understanding and truth.
