I don't understand why he wouldn't be honored just because he was drafted. That is a ridiculous idea; just because he did not choose to go to war does not make him any less a soldier, any less a fighter, any less a hero.

A suggestion: change the format of your piece. It is distracting and difficult to read.

Interesting topic. I agree, all veterans, drafted or enlisted, should be honored for their service (or sacrifice).

However, your formatting made it very difficult to read (I understand if it was a gliche, though). Also, I thought that the repetion of the phrase "you know" was rather distracting. It interrupted the flow of the piece and gave it a casualness that took away from the somber mood of the poem.

Otherwise, not bad.

That isn't right that he isn't considered a Veteran. That isn't right they told him to sit down. No matter what someone who risks their life in a war for their country is considered a veteran.That is a nice piece you have ;)

My fifth grade teach was South African. She was my favorite elemteary teacher. She would sometimes tell us about the terrible wars that her brother had to fight in. She said that he had seen things that no one should ever see, should ever do. I thank your father for being a Veteran, a Survivor, a Hero.

This was very confusing, I'm not sure what exactly it meant honestly. Where did he fight? And why won't people acknowledge it?

It does sound very sad though, and I know all veterans of any kind of war should be honored. I hope your dad gets his rightful respect someday, he has mine.
