Well, I liked the story :) But is it finished? Because the ending didn't really feel finished. It left me with way to many questions. Anyway, I hope you'll update :)

But I shall continue to love the way you write for it is awesome and I won't have much time to review this because I really need to go.

You have a wonderful way of making everything realistic, the grey hairs and the affection River showed.

I loved the 'father' and 'dad', that was great: brilliant. The beginning with the 'my father is a French man with a knife in his shoe' made me laugh and I found it incredibly heart-warming that he would stick up for his somewhat unorthodox parents like that.

Hayden became ashamed of his parents, and you captured that spectacularly :)

aww! this was soo cute (i have a serious soft spot for adorible slash... my friends think im mental... anyhoo) I was suprised(pleasantly) to see river & javier come back as parents, but i liked it. Good work as usual =]

(I know i never reviewed 'burning paper houses, i was a complete bitch and read the whole thing without reviewing. but i absolutely loved it, so you know). anyways ..i thought this was good, even if there wasn't much slashness. Hayden's character is hilarious! He fits perfectly with River and Javier because he is like...the comedic relief of the family. Someone to keep everything interesting...if you will.
