Mr. Singh is back 2005-09-21 . chapter 1Why did this get thrown into the love section?
I am having a hard time discerning which of two possibilities is the point of this poem. The first possibility is that you mean to say that the world will always have soldiers and war, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. If that's the point, then kudos to you.
The second possibility is that you mean to glorify the committed soldier for his undying will to fight for what he believes in. If that was your point, this poem didn't communicate that all too well.
I am also having a hard time telling if you meant to write this poem from a single person's point of view, or if you meant to generalize the mentality behind every soldier when he does his duty. If you wrote this poem with the latter in mind, then the entire message of the poem is dead wrong.
Except for a slight lack of clarity as to the writer's intentions, the poem itself is actually very well written, though you give hints that you've never actually experienced the things that you write about in this poem. Besides the above mentioned inequities, well done. |
