aw. this was sort of nice, because it felt so very naive and helpless, and... unaware? i don't know... it just really seemed to encapsulate not depression, but a lack of direction. excellence.

This is so true! High school is full of people who want to be 'the popular' girl or the 'perfect' boy. It's so annoying. Please keep it up.

Nice poem...just a reminder of how high school was.

I like reading the longer poems by you because they're like going on this wild mind-trip where I feel like I'm falling the entire time I'm reading. With these shorter ones, I'm just left wanting more. That was the case here. I liked this one, though. It's clearly a female poem, and I'm a dude, but I still kinda halfway related, I guess. It made me think of my ex-girlfriend and her love for all those magazines like Seventeen that litter her bedroom floor.

So true and you admit to being caught in it, which is helps the rest of us relate to it. Really captures and escribes simply the fake, plastic world of high school.

This reminds me how it is thought that certain stages of high school are a "rite" of passage... something that everybody goes through whilst trying to find themselves... but anyway, i like your play of words in this peom.

Since I'm not in high school yet, I have no idea whether this is true or not. Nice metaphor. I like it.
