Reviews For: Gaming Until the Mind Bleeds
shelter 2006-03-10 . chapter 1
The title is very apt. But upon first read and a closer look, I think there are some things to consider in the poem. The thing which stands out the most is the cynic sarcasm. It comes across as a very subtle tone which I didn't get after my first reading. Then there's your rhyme, the continuous couplets from the start to the end. The rhyme works quite well in getting the boredom across, but if you're trying to describe a videogame addiction I think it's not very appropriate. Then there's the images which come across. Normally, perhaps it would be expected that the images would be more fierce and heavy. And they are impressionable, but I think they're a bit too literal in describing a culture which is full of graphics in the head. But it is a nice poem, in that it delivers everything that gaming does, and sends the message across clearly.

Very, very true. I love osme of the lines in here... like " buttons A and B have become imprinted on his fingers" It really describes what you're trying to get at. Great job!
