I was never good at strictly defined poetry, instead, all the work seemed to melt like butter. This, however, was very good, in terms of its content and ability to be flexible even in a structured form.

I absolutely love the progression from good to bad to hope. Perfectly phrased. The one word that stands out is 'despite,' which one generally doesn't see as a noun, but I'm sure that's a proper usage because your language is awesome and archaiclike. It really depends on how much you want to accomodate your audience -- I changed a line of my favorite of my pieces because none of the readers got the reference, but you might not be so paranoid about your readers ... dunno

Sounds like the fall; after Adam and Eve sinned. But that's looking at if from a spiritual standpoint. Very well written, flowed smoothly, and good topic. Definitly a favorite.
