I'm not a big fanatasy reader any more, but i find it unsual and a pleasant surprise to find a story written in first person in a fanatsy setting. I like it and although i know you're young and still finding your literary-legs i wish you good luck. there's a lot of creativity, spontenaity and talent. i'm sure you'll get better as you find yor voice (although, just as a bit of helpful criticism, try not to rely on adverbs. stage-action and description are those things you should really toy with to give the story a personal touch. how you use the words and such, you'll find out if you play with them)

O... exicting and a tad scary. i really want to know what happens next, the short chapters really work

well done! reminds me a bit of the Village, except these monsters are real.

I love Carol already. :)

I can't believe you stopped there though! What happens next? *bites nails*

*smacks Luke* I'm sorry, that had to be done. Why didn't he offer to go with her? He must not truly love her... If I were him, I would be more supportive.

Okay, sorry, enough ranting. :P I really do enjoy this story. I can't wait to see where it leads! :)

Interesting beginning. I really like the way you've began this story; it gives us a peek into what was once her life. It was hard to picture that last sentence, though. Maybe you should have used more detail on the monsters...so how they could easily scar a young child for life. Just a suggestion. Well, happy writing!
