This was a great beginning. I like Kistelle, although you haven't explained about her gifts, and I liked the bit about the Unicorn Children at the beginning, and how you continued to Dragon Children. Possibly the only thing that bothered me at all was Ranga's speech, because it seemed a bit too formal. Em, well, formal wasn't quite the right word, but planned.

Lovely. I love the idea, the plot, and how it's honest. Your language is especially vivid when it needs to be, and is descriptive at others.
