Very nice. I think that you capture the emotions very well as to what one feels when the past grabs you by the ankles so to speak. Mine has gotten ahold of me and thrashed me around too, but the ending of your poem inspires me to get back up and continue.

I first read this very quickly and I thought it was a rhyming poem. That's just what the rhythym makes it seem like. I have no idea why. Anyway, I like the rhythym and like I said it's like a rhyming poem's. Also, I like the theme... thing. Don't ask.
