Oh.. this is so heartbreaking! So beautifully written and such a fine piece... But I think I need to now go read something less heart wrenching and happier. :(

Wow. Beautifully written. The story seemed to get better as it went on, picking up pace in characterization and bringing Medusa more alive in the later paragraphs. I also really liked the first paragraph, and the bit about the stone bird.

The encounter that Medusa had with the young man was wonderfully original! I liked how he said she was beautiful, and her response. it raises a 'what if' in my mind, making me wonder how things would have turned out if Medusa had kept her eyes shut.

All in all, a very nice portrayal. I love Greek myths.

You did a lovely job depicting Medusa's pain and isolation. After all, who could love a beast--especially when her very attempt to respond kills every time? I also love the idea of using roses, which seem associated in our culture with love and romance, to cover death.

Very sad and lovely. The last line is amazing.

Wow... Amazing little drabble here. I really enjoyed this, mostly because it was so unique. Never have I seen a more interesting take on Medusa's life. Fantastic job.

i really like your story, b/c it gives a different perspective of medusa, a lonlier one at that. most people wouldn't think of her being so lonely, and your story outlines it well.

I never thought of Medusa's story from her point of view. Good job.

It's wonderful. You can really feel Medusa's desperation and loneliness in this work. The only drawback with it, is that it sometimes feels a little repetitive. "She thought sadly," "he said shakily" and "she whispered thickly." You might want to re-word them. But it's just a suggestion.
