Reviews For: My Room
Rinjii 2006-05-28 . chapter 1
Ah, you're here as well! (I usually run around FFnet under the guise of one BakaBokken or one Delle Reed...) This was a marvelous piece - not only did you describe a room so vividly that I had little trouble picturing it in my mind, but you also told us a little about the narrator at the same time. Very beautifully written! I enjoyed it quite a lot, and I suppose that now I will have to check out your other works. ;D

(-shy grin-) Hey there, Miss Sue.

My gosh, this was a beautiful read, a savoring of words; but I've come to expect that of all that you write. :) The way I can not only see what you see, but feel and touch and taste and smell it too.

I LOVED this: "One day, one day of an unwelcome maturity spurt, a shocked epiphany, I realize that, no matter how hard I try, no matter how much I love them, I will never see a dinosaur, will never ride astride the back of a lumbering brontosaurus, never tame a tyrannosaurus rex with the strength of my charm." It stirs me with nostalgia, for I had such epiphanies myself, and the maturity spurt WAS most unwelcome.

You always get me with the last line too, this time by pulling out of the dreaming with something necessary and constant and familiar like breakfast...

You have a real flair for description, you can really put your reader in wherever you are writing about, and I love that. That comes through really well in this piece...keep writing, you have a real flair! :)

Oh! you're here too! cool! Great essay. In describing just one place, you've said so many interesting stuff. Well, you're always good at that. Write more... pls?:P

OH! I LOVE that! I never had an assignment like that whenever I took creative writing classes *pouts* but this is beautiful. I LOVE the descriptions. The linolium was probably my favorite (man I WANT that linolium... i mean NOW... I'd LOVE that in my room!) LOL... the ending was excellent. So childlike and innocent... A change just like that from a world of your own devising... to breakfast...

Sirius:)
