| Tikvah Ariel 2005-12-29 ch 1, | "Maybe she was schizophrenic" and "in case emotion upset one of her personalities" I sincerly hope you are not as ignorant as your character. Schizophrenia and Dissociative Idenity Disorder are two different things. One someone is schizophrenic they hear/see things that aren't there along with some other side effects. One someone suffers from DID they have 'alters' that come out during times of stress, and are normally defense mechanisms from childhood abuse and tramua. Please save yourself the embarrasment of confusing them again. Its a large petpeeve of mine, and yes, DID used to be called multiple personailtly disorder. The name was changed in the '90s. Your narrator is realistic enough, but the boarding school idea is pretty cliche. If the chemistry between her and her roomate works out well it could turn into a decent story. If not it will most likely end up a cliche young drama story. But I like I said, has potential. |
