there is a lot in this - a lot of emotion resonating from ur words but obscured as u dont express it. i like the way u have set it out and the personification and cannonisation of 'apathy' is lovely. also ur use of a real life example amidst the abstract concept of beliefe and emotion grounds ur writing in truth and fact

This one hits closer to home than usual. You tend to do a great job of stirring up the emotions in me that are always there, but settled at the bottom of me kinda like the grounds in stale coffee. What's the word? Homogenization? Something like that. Though it strikes me as silly, comparing myself to coffee, when usually I'm the one that needs it.
