Fascinating; candles are so mythical and mysterious, you really set up a powerful start by bringing the image of them in so strongly. The writing in this was good; you showed a wide range of pain for your protagonist- loss, love, memory, physical as well as emotional tenderness. I was left wondering what had happened to her; why this relationship ended the way that it did, and why this boy was left in such a “suicidal” state. Keep up the good work.
