GambitsJami 2005-12-17 . chapter 1I wish one could reply to reviews without having to submit one. Like you'd reply to a thread.
Just a few things.
Hi Brian. Love ya man. Could care less if Barry Manilow is an athiest. I just like his music and I know he's a good person. That's all that matters.
Mr. Genius - for the record, I already accepted Christ as a child. Though admittedly I think that some people have twisted things around and I don't believe in one true religion. Though I do believe religions, including my own, can have wrong beliefs, or can be wrong in the sense that they worship evil. As for Hermia The Adventure Cat - that's based on a real cat. Nancy, Erin (RIP), Richard, and Hermia all exist. Hermia kept getting mysterious injuries. No one knew how so I wrote a silly story how she might've gotten them. Turns out it was a loose nail on a fence in an area where she was going out to explore.
The sex scene is absolute bare bones, but I feel is nessasary to show how Daniel feels about Emily. Because her body isn't perfect and it states in there he doesn't care that things sag and stuff like that. He just wants to be with her, he loves her and is attracted to her no matter what she looks like. It also states that Emily doesn't care that his body isn't perfect either and that he looks older when he's naked.
I don't think you read Song Of Silence or you'd know I can write something other then children's stories. |
Brian Arkle Webber 2005-12-17 . chapter 1You know, I was surprised to learn, while doping research for one of my Blogs, that Barry manilow is an Atheist.
Jus thought I'd mention that here for no good reason. |
Mr. Genius (not logged in) 2005-12-17 . chapter 1 I don't think you're a bad writer at all. You're a great writer that would specialize in writing children's stories! Hermia the Adventure Cat was GREAT! There is no reason I would report it. Everything's good in that story. But your R-rated one with the sex thing. Why don't you just remove the sex part? Then you won't have to fear of getting reported. I take sexual scenes as nothing good, and I can't imagine an author that wrote something as good and as charming as Hermia The Adventure Cat writing something like sex. It's just flat out wrong. The only reason you don't think you are a good writer is because you're trying to feel sorry for yourself. And you're trying to be pessimistic. I know, all of the bothering things in life can get irratating, but if you face it with optimism, or better yet, the power of God, it'll seem like nothing!
Earnestly, I don't think you are a bad writer. No one does. You know what, I'm in your same shoes. I have a occupation that I don't even really want to do--piano. You don't want to write, you want to sing. I don't want to play piano, I want to design video games! If your parents or relatives are coming or whatever, thus blocking you from singing, maybe God didn't have any intent for you to move out and sing. He wanted you to do what you are doing now. Writing stories. God challenges us with things we think are impossible, but if we use His power, we can overcome everything. Through Chris Jesus, you can do anything. Repent from your sins and try the things that were impossible before. Are they possible? Yes. They are. Is it possible to die without grief? Yes. Please do accept Christ this very day, for God brought his only begotten Son so that we may not perish, but have everlasting life. When you accept Christ, all you have to do is ask him forgiveness of your sin. If you are really and truly sorry, he will forgive you, and you will be new again. And when you die, you will leave your body and enter a better place--Heaven. Do you accept Christ as your Saviour? I hope so. That's all I have to say. =) Bye. |
 Ryosuke-Segami 2005-12-16 . chapter 1XD
For someone who's not a writer, you write pretty well. Seriously, I read a lot of other people's works, and most I'm not impressed with. You managed to keep my interest throughout this entire piece. You have great descriptive skills, without even trying it seems, and the arrangement is good. Even if this is a rant, it's a damn well organized one.
Many things that certain people aren't fond of may also be relief centers for them. I don't enjoy taking tests, but I'm always the happiest after completing one. I swear, one of the best days of my life was when I took the ACTs. I finished and then went out to "Sicily's" with some friends. I was SO happy.
Even if you do not consider yourself a writer, I do. And I'm sure many others do as well. And of course, like with all writers, you could use improvement. But, then again, who couldn't use a bit of improvement?
One last thing. No writer honestly believes that their work is good. hell, I look and my stuff and think it's **, but others disagree. And it occurs the other way around, as well.
Continue to do what you enjoy. Even the most frightened of people can stand up and fight for what they want, and so can you. I'm sure you know that even if you try, there isn't a 100% chance of you achieving your goal. But even then, it's a 0% chance if you don't try at all. |
