abuseincredibly touching, you've hit the nerve of things as always. the image of helpless strength was one i found particularly hitting.the things we learn when we walk such empty houses...

abuseHow did you come up with this? In these lines you tell an entire story, so powerfully tragic, you create an entirely new world of sorrow with so little words...and you give loss and death a new dimension, that makes the reader wonder. I'm amazed...this poem bears a really strong message, I admire you and the way you gave life to the whole idea of 'loss' and how you separate it from 'death', defining both in a very sad way. Brilliant work. Love, mia

abuseHow can heart come to grips with all that rips,--

Rends all existence with its bloody blades,--

'Til all poor heart can do is shiver frail?

Ocean has not enough tears to contain,

The magnitude of loss of youth in bloom,

When sun shines bright on tanned limbs in motion,

And heart is filled with unbounded feelings,

Promises of full growth yet unfulfilled,--

Yet nature cruel in her war with life,

Exacting casualties from innocence,

Placated only by cold entropy,

Would yet demand our last devotion's faith,

Lest we abandon all that we hold dear,

A humble offering of prayer we give.
