Let me point out that I adore the opening to this. Also the poem itself, of course, but the opening.. I adore.

This is an interesting poem. I'm reading "Romeo and Juliet" for the first time, and I keep coming across these Shakespeare-inspired poems... hehe, the timing is just funny. Or maybe I'm noticing Shakespeare references more, right now? Who knows ;)

Those last couple of lines were my favourite. They were so deeply searching and sad. The idea of someone being mostly soulless--as though they they've lost everything worthwhile within themselves--that is tragedy in the truest sense of the word.

By the way, I really like your name; bleed gilead. What's the story behind that? I keep thinking of Gilead, in the Bible, but can't remember much *about* Gilead off the top of my head :D

Excellent use of internal devices to seperate thoughts, feelings, and subjects. The constant halting makes the reader really look at the words as well as the meanings behind those words. Amazing way of weaving several topics, literary references together to create a work with both tone and theme.
