It's a tribute to your story-telling that I didn't have to read the previous chapters to remember what was happening in this story, it's so good. Good to know Tarek's not going to be executed right away, but I can't help shake the feeling that he is in some way playing the species off against each other. Yey, a new chapter. I always liked this story, really glad you've decided to keep it going. A good chapter, finally found out what happened. Some of the dialogue became confusing jumping between people but apart from that a great chapter. Carry on updating, this story rocks!

spydercrystal, I'm pretty sure that there's nothing wrong with getting inspiration from another source. If every story had to be original and new and completely different there'd be no new stories. The great thing about writing is that you can be inspired from one source, take snippets from another, and twist it around and create something completely new and different and amazing. Faylin is a great writer, and I'm not entirely sure you're offering anything worthwhile in your comments. Just because there's a phrase or a species similar to another doesn't mean that the author 'copied' that first one, or anything of the kind.

In short: (lol) Don't bother posting comments remarking on the similarities between this fiction and Stargate. We DO NOT CARE. Accept this as a great piece of writing inspired by a favourite TV show and let it go. You'll feel better for it, I promise. lol.

I've just read through the entire first few chapters and so far I really like this story. It does feel a bit similar to star gate (as others have pointed out), but I believe there are enough differences to seperate it. I hope you continue, I really do like this story.

Yes I have seen Stargate, and I'm actually a really huge fan. I'm currently in the process of collecting the seasons. The concept for my Arentai larva actually came before I discovered Stargate, but now I partially imagine Tarek to look like one of those Goa'uld. I wanted the Arentai to be powerful enough to turn humans and humanoids into slaves, but I wanted my main character, Ves, to have some kind of personal connection to them. That is where I thought of having the initial stages of thier young as parasites in a humanoid host. I do see the connection between this story and Stargate, but the initial concepts were quite different.With stargate Atlantis, I have not seen the complete season 1, let alone any episodes of season 2. They do not air on the commercial channels here. I'm sorry if it seems like a similarity to you, but all of these ideas are mine.

It is sounding more and more like a twisted episode of Stargate SG-1.

When Tarek says "Crap indeed" it sounds like the second episode of Season two of Stargate Atlantis where Hermiod agrees with Rodney and says, "Crap indeed"

Have you ever watched Stargate SG-1? Because the Arentai sound a lot like the Goa'uld.
