First chapter is great. The dialogue between characters is very amusing, and their interactions are written really well. the imagery at the beginning is stunning! i hope you continue.

i think you should add a comma after "passed on"...i had to read that 3 times before the sentence worked for me.

great work. you built a really fascinating story, and the ending of this prologue is one of the best i've read. =)
