| la-vita-bella 2006-04-11 ch 5, | abuseI'm always so pleasantly surprised by this story! My goodness, I'm not kidding when I say you've brought, "show don't tell" to an art. In case you don't know what that is ('cause I have a feeling it's not a technical term and my L.A. teacher just made it up...), that means that you basically show the reader how the character is feeling, as oposed to just telling them. Pretty self explanitory. xD Anyway, I was just amazed by it! For instance, in chapter three, not once did you...er...Taylor come out and say, "I was confused by my attraction to this man." No, you showed us his confusion. The way he described Jamie's movements, the way he used less-then-flattering vocabulary to describe Drew, we felt his underlying emotions. And through his dialogue, we could tell how awkward the situation was, and how unsure and confused this man really was! To put it bluntly, you didn't even need to tell us he's confused, we got that just from your writing. You've really brought your characters to life. It's astounding. Great, great job! You'll be hearing more from me! Adios for now. |

I'd have loved to actually see Jamie's face at that moment, just to catch the indignation because it must have been great. the whole 'brotherly' need to look after Jamie is quite amusing though. Taylor needs to sort out which it is, I loved the comment, 'but then that will just put us in weird, somewhat illegal realms as I also want to screw him until he screams his pretty little face off.'Great chapter, I really really like this story and I'm looking forward to seeing how things go between the two of them (I've still got crossed fingers for a happy ending though.) |
