It's kind of ironic that I read this right after talking with this friend of mine who's a pretty big player (but only because he has his sights set on a girl he could never have). But that last stanza, god, I know that smile that you get from that feeling. Sometimes it's just nice to have that kind of power, even if using it only hurts you (and the one you love). Beautiful work.

I love the reluctant acceptance (of falling in love) & expectance [sorry if that isn't a word] (of the heartbreak to come). The tone is really amazing 'cause usually you would think of a person who's like "I want you to break my heart" as confrontational, but it doesn't come across like that at all. It's just so sweet and beautiful (and yet, it almost seems like girl will break her heart--your words just seem like foreshadowing). It's really cool that you can put that into the last stanza without really saying anything at all.
