this poem was quite incredible, if you don't mind my saying. the last stanza is like a shock of ice cold water. refreshing and all that.

you remind me of the Enlightened, awkward & defiant & sweet & original & proud, rejecting cliche & determined to paint & write & breathe & scar themselves into everything they touched, beautiful & damned, exhaling power, vitality & a transience so heartbreaking, warming & oblivious

So refreshing to read of a romance that is so deep it puts aside the Eros aspect.

The last verse seems to suggest to me that the "present" love.affair.relationship could nowhere compare to "that was life." It's almost an insult to the current person in a very subtle way.

You have a lot of depth for one so young. Keep up with your writing-- I can see you becoming a well-read author one day...

You know, you have four reviews on this poem that have the word 'gorgeous,' not including mine. That was pretty awesome. Lovely how the last stanza is in present tense, and salt really stings, hm?

I love poems about non-romantic romance, where the last thing you want is one of those pan around movie kisses.

The last three lines are probably my favourite because it feel as though they tell you the most.

o, this was absolutely gorgeous, i adore it, it has such a charming air to it and a strange simplicity of imagery but screams of so much more, just beautifully done

This is gorgeous. I can see it all happening, and it's like watching a movie in words (if that makes any sense). I liked the line about how there was no kissing. And the "(just like this)" make everything so heartbreakingly beautiful. This was really good.

i really like how you make the change from past to present, from "this was life" to "this is life".it feels real, and all the emotion is right there.brilliant! (but i gather you know that from all the other reviews)

It holds such a peaceful tone. I really liked the part about styrofoam cups and the last stanza. Very picturesque, keep writing :)
