Da Vinci at Work 2006-12-13 . chapter 1Haha, so true. |
Anti85 2006-11-08 . chapter 1my first thought when i read the title was something like; oh no, another teenage i'm so lonely crappy poem... somehow i still decided to read it, and i'm glad i did!
i like the style, classic rhymes, but still strong sentences without any weird fuss about them, it's straight foreward, and that's good. i also love the how mad, how mad, how mad and the how sad, how sad, how sad, as they really break the rythm of the poem.
it's cynical and sarcastic, filled with longing for that someone. haven't we all felt like that sometimes?
great work! |
The Intelligent Designer 2006-10-09 . chapter 1This is great! So many people can relate to this, which makes it a poem that everyone can read. Good job!
The rhyme scheme is a little...weird. Some of the lines rhyme well, but others are just off. It doesn't take away from the poem though, which is cool. |
 Helena-16 2006-10-06 . chapter 1Lovely. I really enjoyed reading this poem. |
felicia13 2006-08-29 . chapter 1I love the depressed and almost suicidal approach to Valentine's Day. I myself wrote a poem that started out more cynical, but turned kinda mushy at the end. What can I say? I guess I'm a romantic at heart .. ^^
Anywho, it was a wonderfully bitter poem, and I loved it! Yay!
Keep writing, because this stuff is quality.
Felicia
Review Response (When Cows Jump): It was rather amusing. People didn't really laugh, because I had Drama first period and everyone was still asleep. No one's perfect, right? |
behindstonewalls 2006-08-22 . chapter 1very good, tons of us can relate, keep up the good work and thanx for the review! |
Marionette Dancer 2006-08-22 . chapter 1heehee, i absolutely love it!yay, a canadian, my friend jason is from canada, although he recently moved to the states, (y this matters, i do not kno)
anyway, i really liked the sarcastic look at valentines day, and it is absolutely fantastic...heehee, the line that really caught me as absolutely hysterical was
"no slushy, swapping spit to share"
awesome, funny, and so many people can relate to it...thank you for the awesome review, and thank you for being public with Christ, there arent enough who are.

Sukidayo 2006-08-21 . chapter 1First, I want to thank you for your review on my story a Normal Day in teh Cafeteria. This little poem was really sweet if not lonely. I don't care much for Cupid's day, but the sweets are welcomed... just on the fat. lol |
Dying Rose 2006-08-20 . chapter 1I LOVE this poem. It's so perfectly brutal, sarcastic, funny - I can't even begin to describe everything I like about it. The word choice is incredible, the rhyming great, the imagery and thought processes are awesome. I usually put out a more eloquent review, but tonight the words escape me.
Thanks so much for your review of my work.
Best wishes!

Samana 2006-08-11 . chapter 1i like this a lot, and i usally hate poem s written in this rhyme style, but you have made one big exception, comical enough, yet serious enough to make a point, great work, love the poem, peace |
 p0kesy 2006-07-14 . chapter 1mm. i know you only wrote a very short review, but thanks. ^^||
i love this poem, btw. i totally relate. it's nice... |
TinuvielDork 2006-06-13 . chapter 1Aw, this is good! Very bittersweet, but very good. Kind of a perfect representative of Valentine's Day for about three-quarters of the female population, too. :) I know exactly how you feel. But I liked how you keep it light, despite the underlying emotions peeking through. I especially liked the four lines in the middle "Stupid, evil greeting card companies,/who have to ruin a perfectly good saint!/If I have to see another Cupid's arrow,/I swear, I'm sure I'm going to faint." You did quite a good job on this.
Much love...TinuvielDork |
Lounalune 2006-06-06 . chapter 1Everybody reviewing this poem must say the same thing (otherwise, why would they review?), but I'll say it anyways: somehow I think I know these feelings, especially since in France Valentine's day is not also about family and friends, but only about lovers. And spending it with my best friend didn't work this year because since last year she found someone else to spend it with. Well, I should be happy, he's a great guy...Anyways, enough complaining. The poem is great, a bit of sadness and great sarcastic humour ("no slushy, swapping spit to share" -- how I love that line, it made me burst out laughing).By the way, thanks for your review. I love Canada! What region are you from? |
Lyra Alluse 2006-05-25 . chapter 1I LOVED this. This is exactly how I felt on Valentine's day this year. Excellent ryming and imagery. You have an awesome style. Keep up the good work! ^^ |
CL Gingerich 2006-05-19 . chapter 1Wow, you describe the hideous Valentine's Day down to the tee. I absolutely agree with you. It is only good to get chocolate, which then make you feel guilty because you eat so dang much of it! Gosh. Valentine's Day sucks. And don't get me started on Sweetie's Day. *gags* |
