 Lui Nahtzi 2006-04-05 . chapter 9Aw man, no fairies...again, I am kidding.
Well, now we get insight into evvybody's lives! Woot! ...not EVVYBODY, mind you, just...uh...two people...but, dang it, it's still insight!
They all seem to have a lot of depth, you know. O_O Not to mention hidden agendas and a whole big truckload of grudges. (Are you SURE Hide isn't a fairy? ...Obviously you're sure, since you're the one writing the story. -bangs head on wall-) And...whoah...Ken's got a son! And he's named Kei! Which must've been pretty easy for the mom; all she had to do was change one letter of the father's name...
Is Kaori a vampire, or is Kei half-and-half? (Did you mention that name in another chapter? I feel like you did, but I can't check; I now have a limited amount of time to use the Internet during weekdays, despite the fact that it's summer vacation. Stupid curfew.)
You have a lot of characters, you know. Just when I thought you couldn't pull out any more, BAM! Here comes another handful! ^_^ And I'm supposing they all have their own histories and agendas and stuff! (I can never do something that elaborate. Gwah.) And I'm also supposing that they'll all pop up in person in future chapters! ...eventually! :D
Well, that was a good read in an otherwise crappy day. (Since I'm not allowed to surf, I've resorted to reading my mother's inspirational self-help books and watching TV for nearly half of my entire day. I have no life...) Hope you update really really soon, and that my punishment gets lifted even sooner! XD
Ja!

 Lui Nahtzi 2006-03-31 . chapter 8Oh...O_O
Ne, if Ken's a slayer, and Eiji's a Dracmanus, and Tomoe and Souji are vampires, then is Hide a fairy? O_o -eyes you-
Nah, I'm just kidding, but, then again, with all the plot twists you've been pulling out, it could HAPPEN.
It's a bit strange, though, how easy it was for Ken to collapse; you didn't say anything about him paling or staggering or feeling dizzy, or whatever. But the fight thing was cool! As in, really cool! Downright...uh...cool...? Meh, can't think of any words to describe it. O_O
And I never would have guessed that Souji was, in fact, a vampire. That was downright surprising. He seemed so innocent, too, in the first chapter! -cough- Well, to me, anyway. And he saved Ken! Kudos! XD -salutes-
But now I'm getting confused again. Who IS the antagonist, and what did Ken mean by 'World Purification Alliance'? And what does HQ and Inner Sanctum have against the WPA?
And, HOLY CRAP, Ken has a son?! A kid?! Plot twist after plot twist after plot twist! O_O
But that's what I like about this story. It's so unpredictable that I can't wait for the next chappies! ^_^ Oh, and I have a friend who does wonders if you give her a mouse and an art program, but she makes people pay for her work, so...-shrugs- Darnit.
Hope you find someone who doesn't need payment, though, because I really, really, really want to see how they look like! o_o

Lui Nahtzi 2006-03-30 . chapter 7Aw, god, sorry if I'm a little late. I read the sixth chapter and all, and was going to review, but...GASP! The review box didn't work! Goldarnit! XP
Well, after a couple of days of waiting, I tried again, and it did! Spiffy, huh? -is proud of self even though nothing was done at all besides clicking on the 'Go' icon-
Great two chapters, but I'm getting confused. Who's the real enemy here? Ken seems so...likable! ...and hot, but we won't go into that. -coughfangirlcough-
Although I do sort of like that. It's not black against white or light against dark; there are a lot of gray areas, and that's what makes them seem so believable. Everyone has a motive for something-- I can't really figure out their real ones yet, but I will! ...eventually-- and you learn to like them.
Lovely arguments and all; I would never have guessed that Ken was whom Mrs. Woodward was talking about. O_O Intriguing.
...I seem to be talking about him alot...O_O;
Can't wait for the next chapters; I really want to see what methods Hide will go through to acquire those...tapes... (See? I didn't forget! -proud of self-)

Lui Nahtzi 2006-03-25 . chapter 5...so...you posted multiple chapters? That's good. When I saw the 'Chapters - 5-' thingummy, I nearly thought I stayed away for too long. O_O
And...tapes...? I'm thinking Ken did that on purpose. It seems quite probable...but perhaps I'm getting his character wrong. He _probably_ has a tad more substance than just being...uh...-cough-
What's the WPA? Did I miss that part? What's Souji's real mission? Are we going to see more of that in future chapters? And who...or what...exactly _is_ Shi? Where did Tomoe find him?
Oh, god, I love that name.
Anyway, I'm asking too many questions. Enlighten me when the next chapters come up, ne? Such a long, long story, and I don't see the climax popping up any time soon. That's not a bad thing, actually, but it makes me have to wait. And wait. And wait some more.
And, Shi seems really interesting. We're seeing more of him in future chapters, right? I actually have no idea how he looks like. Describe! DESCRIBE! -begs-
...on that note: I don't know how anyone else looks like, either, besides Tomoe and Eiji. Or...you could have mentioned stuff about the others, but I couldn't remember, and then I could've been too lazy to click back on the earlier chapters and check, which is way more probable.
...WHY is nobody reviewing this? This is such a good story! -bangs head on wall and curses-
Oh, and you slipped two times and said 'geisha' again, but I'm not going to bug you about it anymore. ...geisha...Hide mentioned something about that...geisha...hm... Ah, the suspense! XD
Update soon, and everyone else until they review! This story deserves that. |
 Lui Nahtzi 2006-03-17 . chapter 2Uh...wow...really descriptive...uh...okay...
Your story's really interesting, especially the summary, although I don't really see anything that relates to it happening at the moment. Perhaps in future chapters...? I mean, let's not forget the poor Souji, shall we?
I don't really have any complaints, save for one. Geisha are not, as you wrote, courtesans or prostitutes. They were, and still are, a respected part in Japanese society. Sure, some of the upper class deemed them harlots, but there was still some thread of deference.
The 'gei' in geisha actually means 'art', so they are, literally, living pieces of art. They do not sell their bodies, but their services, such as their witty conversations and their dances. They were employed for only the dinner celebration they were needed at, and could, at any time, excuse themselves and leave.
So...I suppose the correct term for what you were trying to portray Tomoe as is 'yuujo', which are the Japanese equivalent of, you guessed it, prostitute. Maybe next time, you could do a tad more research on them? It wouldn't hurt.
And...holy crap, Syaoran and Sakura?! As in, the Syaoran and Sakura of Tsubasa and CCS fame?! -fans self vigorously-
...Just kidding. An inside joke, I presume?
Nice story, though. A tad more detailed than I would feel comfortable with, but good story, nonetheless. If you need more information on geisha, you could read Liza Dalby's 'Geisha'. It's an autobiography of sorts, and really informative.
Update soon, ne, and try to change 'geisha' to 'yuujo' if you can. ^_^ |
