The Postscript 2006-04-29 . chapter 1
Wonderful images, almost mysterious "His arms, dripping blod, spelling a Welcome". Nice work. Keep writing.

I am glad that you continued working on the theme of devotion. This piece reminds me of your "Knighting" tanka. I admire your exploration into the realm of selflessness.

Wow. This poem was extremely powerful, and definately captures the truth of this situation. Bravo! Would love to read more.

This is a great description of how Jesus can help people get rid of bad habits and obsessions - and also how hard it sometimes is for people to even ask Jesus for help in the first place (first two lines).

The reference to blood is well worked out. It refers not only to the literal shedding of blood that is done in cutting, but as you write "drink My blood", I immediately had to think of that Scripture somewhere in John, where Jesus says something like "unless you eat My flesh and drink My blood, you have no life in you."

Not sure whether or not I should like the ambiguity of the word "open" in the last line... (or if I would have noticed this ambiguity at all if you had not pointed me to it *g*), but still, this poem really describes how Jesus loves us and wants to heal all that is wrong with us, without precondition - but how, on the other hand, we also need to put our trust in Him and accept His offer - He will heal us, but not without our consent. (In the context of the poem: Jesus offers that person to drink His blood, but if she doesn't, He certainly won't force her to.)
