Stunning, I especially liked the discreption of the 'sparrow'...it sounds more like a phoenix to me, but maybe thats just a fluke...and i like what seems to be insinuated by the last line 'is that my soul?' it gives the previous lines a different meaning, really ties it all together

I always love finding poems that are more than just pretty words on a page, more than just lame, superficial scribble that's supposed to "mean" something. I adore this poem because it doesn't sit on the page (site) like a piece of art; it climbs off it and hits its audience on so many levels (doesn't just appeal to the eyes but to the heart and the soul, too, is what I'm saying). I love the voice of this, how the narrator seems lost, in a heartbreaking way. But the way you've composed it makes me think, makes me feel the poem. It's original and wonderful and thought-provoking. Favorite List-ing it, here. :-)
