The Inkslinger 2006-03-05 . chapter 1Oh, I love your poetry to death. I think I can honestly say that you are my favorite poet ever. Even over all the published stuff (most of it is old and famous and frightening) I've read from my University courses. I just love yours so much! I never thought I'd enjoy poetry-- ever, but I'm enamoured with yours! It's so crazy.. how do you do it??
And another crazy thing- until recently I thought I hated jazz, but then I was rifling through my sister's CDs and found a jazz one amid them, and so I tried it out, and would you believe, that now I am addicted? Thus, I love this poem all that much more.
Especially the last line. It's so perfect. "We eat, sleep, and breath jazz, baby. We don't know nothing else." It sounds like it should be a line from a jazz -song-... so yes, it's perfect to end the poem on. Oh, and the line "the beat of the streets" so fitting for the poem. Awesome. You are incredible!
And now, I have the most insane urge to go an listen to that Jazz CD. Haha..
