An interesting contrast between "cabinet sauvignon" and "coal-tinted spectacles." The latter phrase makes me think of an industrial coal mining town and I think the rest of the poem, with its references to chalk residue and crumbling, etc goes in that direction too. "Cabinet sauvignon" seems a little out of place. Maybe you mean it to be.
