Clorinda 2006-03-26 . chapter 1This is living proof why I like to read plays more than to see them enacted.
First of all, I have to say that I really liked how you took the time off to mention arrangements for the props, but left the blocking to the director's interpretation. Although, (no offense intended) Arthur's drawing room seems to have all sorts of . . . inordinate objects at times. (A *lady's garters*? What for? Isn't he too old for bedding people like rabbits?)
Secondly, I like the way the dialogue flows. One old, possibly rapacious man, and a younger man, idly talking murder . . . That was a brilliant twist in the tale. Perfect motive, perfect timing, perfect culprit. |
lamenting envelope 2006-03-11 . chapter 1Wow, I really like this. Good characters, good set-up, good plot, and you managed to foreshadow the twist in the end without giving it away, so in the few lines leading up to it there was some excellent dramatic irony... throw in that Arthur and Eugene are probably two of my most favorite names for characters ever and this is quite excellent!! |
