So much about this poem is fantastic.

I feel myself in that room, watching/listening to the rain, musing, seeing the objects around me, sighing, giving up, "the imaginary picture...hanging on the wall" (my favorite line), ALL of it. I am there. It is me.

Now to see if f/p will let me add this to my favs. (they sometimes say i have reached my limit! how can one reach a "limit" of favorite thoughts?)

Beautiful. I love your use of imagery to get your point across. "imaginary picture of you hanging on the wall". I know exactly what you mean. Also, the "pitter-patter" of the rain. Just everything together makes this poem wonderful.

i like how this piece doesn't veer into dramatics, how it works with simplicity and attempts to bring out the beauty of an everyday occurence. There is also something particularly poignant and ironic about the last 2 lines--"I give up,/and think about possibilities instead." do keep writing :)
