I like the kids who actually buy those clothes because they like thrift shops and not because they like hot topic... etc. and "emo" has almost always actually been an insult to the subculture that is emo. for example, no bands usually admit to being emo and try to get away from the label. these days, more people find it as a rallying point as well as a sort of joke. I love the people who are seriously into their own thing and aren't middle class kids out to whine just cuz they can, and your poem is just perfect!

A lot of "emos" I know are just as you described: fake. But I know others who really do have the hard life, and dress/act the way they do because its who they are. Then there's those who happen to listen to that sort of music because they like the sound, and who dress that way only because it looks good on them.But I really do like the way you portrayed the fake ones. The "posers". The sarcasm is REALLY easy to notice, and I love it.-O.Rhia

"emo" is a music genre, dead.maybe those scene kids are just a little bit posing, and more than a little bit a lot. but unless you know every single one, how would you really know their reasons? it reminds me of the emo song, but this almost even more insulting.we are all just silliness, but i would laugh, but you actually said in it, "without actually owning up to it" do you have a criteria sheet? hah, i was seriously laughing but then you almost seemed like you know the exact way these kids are supposed to be. you have me fooled(but i overreact about everything)
