I've actualy answered your question over 70 times on this website and hundreds of times throughout my short life. Every poem is, beyond an attempt to express an emotion or narate an event, is a step closer, or prehaps another complex part of, the answer to this question. What is poetry? The thoughts of every generation of poets. All in all, this poem is, just as I said, average. It works, as a whole, but the whole is merely the sum of the parts, and the parts are only so-so. The prase I find myself saying the most on this website is "Show, don't tell". It takes years before that really sinks in and you can figure out how to show instead of telling, but once you do...
