It's not terrible, but not at all good. I don't know about Hallmark--I think you have to be a little less interesting to be featured there, and maybe rhyme--but I don't see this anywhere better than a second-rate anthology. There are a couple of nice turns of phrase, but in all honesty this poem lacks the slightest spark. I would seriously work on imagery, because striking images are the lifeblood of poetry.

This really conveys a sense of leaving the familiar and loved. I like those solitary words at the end of the stanza, and the optimism conveyed by ending with 'hope.'
