Fractured Illusion

ch 3,
abuse"However, some of the most traumatizing is yet to come…not in this chapter, though"
Haha, all that buildup for nothing! Wonderful :p

Loved the part about the shoes with wheels. Almost got me laughing with that one! :D (as in, real laugh, not inside-head-laugh)

I seem to have a problem with your lists, because the characteristics just didn't amuse me. I think it lacked the humor otherwise seen. You usually build it up with a line or two, but its not possible like this.

A major "haha" for scenario 2 and avishai! Man that guy is cracking me up! His, erm, personality is so appealing in this parody-esque essay. Also the fact that he fails. Haah!

abuse"and their love of people they haven’t even met"
*chuckles* True that! But then again, fangirls and such exist within all stereotypes! Just to clarify...which I dont even know why I am since this isnt even serious.

"They say the words 'like', 'totally' and 'omigosh' in every 1 in 3 sentences"
What? In every 1 in 3? I don't really get it...was it a joke I didnt get or a spelling error?

"They flip their hair more than they use a pen"
Oh snap! :o What marvelous research done here!

"Tryhard: :attempts to imitate popular person, trips and is promptly taken to hospital...damn, that was a SHARP stick!:"
Funniest line so far! Why? Because of hte build-up from the two previous sentences. Well delivered.

"Avishai: I'M GONNA BASH YOU MUTHA :expletive: ER!"
Oh holy! O_O Quite an aggressive individual, eh? Well, at least he is amusing in this essay! He has thus served a purpose in life.

I loved Scenario 3 and how the teenybopper runs away screaming. Mental imagery is just too priceless! but poor Tryhard! He is like Kenny from South park: always ends up dead. Aggrokid was definitely not fun to read about in scenario 3 though. You had set certain expectations before.Certain verbal and screaming expectations. And in the final scenario you do not deliver? Ack.

I have to admit though, the 10 commandments were too hard to read through. I couldn't get a thing. Either that or its because I'm tired. Maybe a combo? :p

abuseOh wow, I can't wait to see how this mock-essay will turn out to be! :D I like humor so far, because you pretty much hit it dead on (what with the squeals and law suits). I am not laughing hysterically yet though :p

Overall, a nice intro page to the bigger picture. It's well rounded and summarizes your "area of inspection" so to speak.

Now teach me rules of high school! :D

abuseIt's good to see that you updated! I love your work on making fun of people who take themselves all too seriously in high school by trying to label and be labeled. It's just too bad that some cannot appreciate the humour beneath all this.

abuseYour analysis of a Goth made me laugh. Hard.

Funny, because most people would call me an "authentic" Goth.

Your description fits POSER wonderfully. Because we all know...there are no goths in high school.

From the way you described their state of dress...it sounds more punk or emo...than Goth.

abuseOkay I really liked the goth chapter especially saying they cry at the end of Harry Potter cos they were rooting for Voldemort. Mind you I get upset when Voldemort loses, but thats mainly because Harry is an irritating little child with a bad temper.Oh and I love the calling of an ambulance in senario one, that was brill. Now it's probably just me who reads the reviewer responces because I tend to have more time than most people to waste but I didn't read them this time cos I'm now too lazy to even do that. Oh and as for emo, I only discovered the term a short while ago and ever since I have felt mild curiosity about the differences, but mostly a strong sense of uncaringness. Well at least chapter six means I largly no longer have to feel either of those emotions on the subjects. Hope to read another chapter sometime in the future.

abuseAnd THAT person that you quoted had no idea what they were talking about. They described gothic movement in it's fetal stage when it was still a sub-category of punk. Goths don't actually care about anything. Nihilism is a predominant part of that culture.

Anarchy and '** authority' is way punk. Loud music is too. Bonafide goth music is about as enthusiastic as a zombie on lithium.

Also? Loose baggy pants were never there in the start. That's also an adopted style of little gothlings. You totally had it right with the tight fitting pants thing. As well with the shoes going over the pants. Because when one has huge boots that go up to their knees, and skinny pants, there's no choice.

Personally, I don't actually care about any of this. Your story is meant to play on stereotypes, which are, of course, exaggerated representations of reality. I just love babbling on and on about social groups. I adore them, and I simply love what you've done with them in this story. It's brilliant.

abuseIf you want to get into specifics, the label 'emo' was created to take the sadness out of goth, and leave them with no emotions at all. Therefore, comparing Frodo to baby bats doesn't work so well anymore. Of course, being as they haven't actually researched the labels that they decided to adopt, most just mix them together, and as a result, you get the denizens Hot Topic.

So, whatev.

abuse...and just when I thought preps could only exist in the good ol' US of A, you prove me wrong.

Fun, cynical, and very dry. I sincerely enjoyed reading this and--though I am an Ugly American--was comforted by the fact that we're not the only people who suffer from preps (or as you call them: teenybopers).

In all your wisdom and observance, I suspect that I'm going to be pretty entertained if I read on.

So I will.

Good job.

abuseWhew, talk about nitpicky. >_< Goth, emo--not only is it hard to tell the difference, no one would bother to distinguish, anyway. ^^

I *think* unfunny is a word...

^_^

Be proud of yourself--you may have saved some lives (albeit dark, depressing lives) with this chapter!
