Hmm...This is a very interesting concept. I don't think I've ever read a story with unattractive characters. I'm not sure if I like the idea, I'm kind of waiting to find out the mud guy really isn't that hideous and that Jandyn only thinks he's ugly. What makes him ugly BTW? You haven't described him at all except for height. I'd really like a better idea of what he actually looks like.
At this point the only error I noticed was in the first chapter where you put "the" instead of "they", but other than that I didn't notice anything wrong.
I'll be looking forward to the next chapter to get a better feel for the characters and story.

It would be wonderful if you continued this story to beyond the second chapter. Its highly intriguing and I would like to know more about what's going on in it! Why is Jandyn so despised by his fellow townsfolk? Is the creature he ran into a zombie? What happened to him!

I really want to know what happened to him so please keep writing!!
