Aw, this is so sad. I loved how she was so ready for battle for the duration in the story. I was a little disappointed how at the end, she basically gives up. It's hard to explain: she gives up all fight, but she doesn't give up hope...Does that make sense? Anyway, you did a wonderful job with this. Congrats on keeping the consistency of the middle-age launguage and speech. Nice job.

Oh no... I wish it had a happier ending... Oh well. It's an excellent piece of writing. The characters were developed very well. I feel like I really got to know the speaker. She seemed very deep and passionate about what she believes in, but also willing to compromise in order to appease those around her. Such a speaker is easy to relate to, as everyone wants to be as confident, yet laid back as she seems to be (in a weird, romeo and juliet laid back kind of way haha). Anyway this was... nice. Nice in the genuine sense of the word. Like all around a pleasure to read. And it really made an impact on me. Great job!
