That's so sad! It's beautiful in its sad way, though, with its striking simplicity. Almost like a cello song. Wonderfully done!
I do wish that you had emphasized the creepiness factor a little more, though. Give a reason for the playing, or more instances of this playing. It would make a bit more sense that way, not in an overly explained way but in a good one.

And, wow, great one-shot. One thing that stuck out at me was the voice you used, sort of like you're talking to someone else, sort of like you're not. I dunno, but I like it. Also the first sentence, it drew me in right away.

I'm wondering, why cellist? Why not violinist, or something? Just a random thought that popped into my mind, and now I've got stuck in my head all the reasons you could've wanted cellist. It's going to bother me for the rest of the day, I bet.

Anyway, wonderful story, it's going on my favorites.

Nice work. I haven't seen you around in a while. I think everybody who reviewed my Paul is Dead Essay was a big help to me. Very eerie and intriguing... I really like it. The traditional string instruments fascinate me to no end, though I don't play but some guitar... I don't have the talent nor patience for it.

Anyway, this was a very interesting piece. Magnificent job.
