For some reason this poem seemed inky to me. Inky? Yes, inky...no, I'm not sure why either. I think it has something to do with how it sounds on my tongue, and probably the details you mention like "liquid love" and "fingertips like dark rain"

"mouthing ‘you’re beautiful’." that line, as well as those around it, really make me see everything.
