I saw this on the History Channel last week but I'm glad you're covering it. I myself consider myself a Bible Scholar, though I have no Doctrines or Degrees.

It's kind of a habit to open up the diologue for non-religious discussino concerning the Bible. You, my firend have inspired me to post some of my findings, starting from the beginning.

Nice, please accept my thanks that you are doing this! After a particular situation, I've strayed from the church, or at least connecting to it the way I used to. That means, of course, less bible study time - and I'm not talking about the fluff bible classes, but the ones that get in depth and really analyze. I miss that. So, keep this up!

Second, I believe that there are stories in the bible not meant to be taken too literally, and while that doesn't mean I don't completely overlook them, I just take them more for the message than anything-parables or not. Jonah being in a 'great fish' does sound a little fishy...(excuse the pun) but I enjoyed reading the history of the cities. What really interests me is the word-plays, things like how "Tarshish" is around modern day Spain, or other words you'll find in Latin to translate. That stuff is cool. Well, keep this up!
