First, I absolutely love the title. 'The Black Flame Candle' is such a brilliant image. As for the question you proposed in the poem, perhaps mortal eyes cannot see the flame, but immortal ones can. Perhaps, the point is that the flame exists, whether anyone sees it or not. Keep up the good work! :)

Short, but very meaningful. I'm still trying to figure out what the candle symbolizes, but I think this is not the standard guidance/help/love motive, but the candle stands for the whole world. Of course, I could be totally wrong.
