Hm. This poem is filled with very poignant imagery . . . some of it none too comfortable, but very well effected, nonetheless. The idea of his sharp tongue slicing his own throat harbors connotations definitely worth belaboring, for the reader that is. I especially like the obviously symbolic reference to the street curb being six feet high . . . macabre; simplistic, yet it works. I also like the invocation of Horatio and even moreso Morpheus; both are literary figures that seem very apt to this piece, with the dark undertones of dreams and abstractism. Well, now I have some catching up to do, do I not?! ^_^ Well, my sister scribe, I hope to talk to you soon!
