Femme de Dieu 2006-06-02 . chapter 1I read this as soon as you posted, but didn't comment then. So you will find this interesting...the last two lines have come back to me over and over again at random moments, both day and night ever since I read them!
Not because they apply to me, but rather quite the opposite. I have everything I NEED, but not much of what I WANTED out of life.
Which is better? I think I feel most sorry for the person whose life has nothing s/he needs.
Thanks for the simple, yet powerfully written, thought-provoking piece. You've done it again! |
Faithless Juliet 2006-05-01 . chapter 1Interesting aspect with "seconds," it literally could work both ways and I probably would have seen it as seconds of food, so thanks for the clarification.
I think the whole, we have everything we've wanted - we're a nation raised on MTV and video games, but nothing of what we need - guidance, and diverse idea's and influences is a powerful subject to tackle.
I heard about this study once, where a group of writers vowed to not listen to TV, or radio, or anything having to do with media, only newspapers and they didn't drive or eat out - and they did it for like a month and the whole study centered around how much it changed them, and made them think about things, and how they were getting the best idea's of their carriers and stuff.
Kind of that same vibe, I guess it just helps to be appreciative of everything that we have and try to give as much to others as possible. Keep up the good work.
Much love,Juliet. |
