| Meg St. James 2006-05-08 ch 1, | abuseAwesome poem. The imagery was amazing and you have a great point. I've never been able to write happy poems... or stories for that matter, but I love reading them. I'm a very happy person at heart, I think I write about what I lack in life (at least that's what I tell my parents.) But, nobody's life is peachy keen, and the fact that you can stay optimistic through everything and then write about it in such a way as this poem, is amazing. Great job, and keep up the good work. I'll be checking back. ~Meg |
| Neverlander12 2006-05-07 ch 1, | abuseI admit that you make an excellent point and there is truth in all you say...however, for people like me the angst filled poetry is simply the overflow of life. In my day to day life I'm a happy, upbeat, bubbly person who loves to make people laugh and turns all the things that are weighing or hurting her into laughter and joy. I'm optimistic and hopeful through it all. My poetry on the other hand is, generally speaking, dark and angsty. It's just my way of relieving what's left at the end of the day, y'know? Sometimes you just have to let it out;if you don't, you really do end up becoming that "misery loves company" person that everybody hates. Once I've written the words, the emotion is gone and I'm good to go. So please understand, some of us are just writing off what's left on our chests. And some of us just like darker poetry. I think your poem is fantastic and honest and very correct in its belief. Just understand, nobody is without their vices. Smooches-CGUll_the_Wizpig |
| Striped Candycane 2006-05-07 ch 1, | abuseI like this...it is hard to put enough emotion into a poem that isn't heartbreaking or depressing, and you managed to do it! Great work! |
