"you were the lesson that I had to learn" - what an honest line (though I think you could do without the "that" in there). I really like the last couple of lines, too. Keep writing! :)

I love this one though. It's a lot shorter than what you have been writing, so it was something different & interesting. This piece is very haunting and heartwrenching. Beautifully written.
