Lady Laiered 2006-05-13 . chapter 1
Well, this poem feels a bit odd given that we are in the throes of spring. Which means that it's very effective - I feel odd because I saw wintry skies, bare branches and softly falling snow in my mind and was startled when I looked out the window and saw green growing things.

I appreciate your usual skill at rhyming without forcing it. It holds the poem together nicely without distracting or detracting from what's going on.

Also, while this may be just too many years of beating poetry to death in English class, it's difficult to read this poem and just take it at face value. I mean, on the one hand, it's just a super-effective and poetic description of a late fall/early winter day; on the other, it sounds like a metaphor for life, in a Robert Frost "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" sort of way.

In any case, another lovely poem. :)
