A Free Elf 2008-01-02 . chapter 4Beautiful imagery - you seem to have rather overshadowed my poem of the same name (search engine curiosity, I hope you log in to read this, even though you seem to have written this almost two years ago).

Elaine of Astolat has always fascinated me, and it's great to see such wonderful spin-off poetry. |
dollface and her cancer 2006-12-06 . chapter 5this is phenomenal. i believe i said it before, but.. honestly, it's a symphony set to silence. your words pitch and fall in lilting, lovely ways. |
FunkyFlower18 2006-08-24 . chapter 5loved that line 'her own threaded demise'. ^^ a lil confusing for me, but i enjoyed the overall feel of it,

dollface and her cancer 2006-05-29 . chapter 3oh, i love the idea of this, and its careful, petalled construction.
it's like an opera on paper. |
Cedric Quilfeather 2006-05-27 . chapter 3Again, you follow the theme by naming your poem after a genus of trees and shrubbery, as banal as that sounds, lol, though it works rather well. Suddenly, I wish I had a deeper background in botany. Oh well. Ah, the reference to Tirra Lirra, one of my favorite poems of yours. ^_^ Very good, Emeraldi. I won't spoil this poem with any more of my opinions, though they abound, suffice to say that once I think you have amazed me as fully as possible, you turn out something even grander not long after. |
Cedric Quilfeather 2006-05-27 . chapter 2I am very, very intruiged by this poem. I think it obvious, but correct me if I'm wrong, that this song is specifically about the oleander, a small, beautiful plant. But it also reminds me of the name Leander, obviously a character from Hero and Leander, the tragedy Marlowe and so many others explored. I very much like the last line, a more poetic expression of a rather commonplace phrase. Muy fantastico, Musaeus. |
Cedric Quilfeather 2006-05-27 . chapter 1This poem reminds me of Alfred Lord Tennyson (probably my favorite Victorian poet), though I don't know if the similarities were intentional or not. Whether they were, of course, does not matter, because this is a simply gorgeous work. This poem reminds me of The Lady of Shalott (a woman stuck on an island on a river that flows to Camelot), and another poem also by Tennyson, Lancelot and Elaine. The characterization here fits both women, but has a deeper element of introspection I'm not sure was in either of Tennysono's poems I just mentioned. Either way, the first installement makes a fantastic seguey, though it could certainly stand on its own. |
emeraude-irlandais 2006-05-19 . chapter 2Okay, now I'm just going to have to kill you and end the genius, because it's making the rest of us look bad. xD Not really, but this is crazy good! "The moon permeates her skin-/cheekbones and shoulders etched in silverpoint/before the darkened mirror." This is what I *live* for. You are crazy talented. Keep writing- for everyone's sakes. `~bella~` |
bleed gilead 2006-05-17 . chapter 2love the moon permeating, silver/mirror. i always love your visual imagery, but on the other hand, never quite feel the same for your endings. |
Faithless Juliet 2006-05-16 . chapter 3It makes me think of the legend where she put a love potion into his glass. Amazing work here, you have so much talent. The detail (I keep saying that don't I?) The style and presence here is amazing. I really enjoyed these, keep up the good work, and update soon if you have more.
Much love,Juliet. |
